About NIKKI HAMMONDS, LCSW, CCM, CIMHP

Experienced Professional

I’m a Certified Integrative Behavioral Health Professional, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Case Manager and Consultant who works at the intersection of mental health, medical, and systems change. My specialty is helping people and organizations understand the hidden medical, neuroimmune, nutritional, and environmental contributors that can drive behavioral health symptoms.

For many families, including my own—the missing piece isn’t more therapy. It’s understanding why symptoms developed in the first place.

Professional Focus

  • Root-cause-oriented behavioral health
  • Integrative approaches to PANS/PANDAS, autism, and other neuroimmune conditions
  • Medical rule-outs and complex case consultation
  • Training and education for mental health counselors & interdisciplinary teams
  • Systems-level & policy improvements in behavioral health pathways

A Personal Note

As a mother of children impacted by neuroimmune conditions that were misunderstood & dismissed by traditional models, I know what it’s like to fight for answers. I bring that perspective into everything I do—clinically, professionally, and systemically.

Frequently Asked Questions

Email me at UnconventionalClinician@pm.me if you have additional questions.

Insurance will not cover the cost of non-clinical consultations, coaching and trainings. I am not an In-Network provider with any insurers for clinical services at this time. If you have Out of Network benefits with your insurance company, I will be happy to provide you a detailed receipt for any reimbursable services so you can submit a request directly to your insurer.

Appointments for clinical services can be made on my clinical services page.

Here are questions you can ask your insurance company about your 'Out of Network' benefits:

  1. Does my health insurance plan include Out-of-Network mental health benefits?
  2. Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
  3. Does my plan cover out of network telehealth for mental health?
  4. How do I submit therapy receipts to your company for reimbursement?

At this time, I offer online appointments only.

I am located in North Carolina, but currently providing all sessions via telehealth. This option provides you with a convenient and effective way to have appointments.

Due to state professional licensing laws, my clinical services are only available to individuals who are also located in North Carolina. Non-clinical consultations, coaching and trainings are available to individuals inside and outside of North Carolina.

I am an "Out of Network" provider for clinical therapy services. Those are offered through my clinical services page. If you have questions, you may contact me directly about fees for all clinical and/or non-clinical services at UnconventionalClinician@pm.me.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
